Road's End
A Folk Song about Wandering.
by manyface music
Road’s End came from a feeling I think a lot of people hit at some point – not knowing where you’re going but trying to move forward anyway.
There’s something honest about that space. No clear destination. No guarantees. Just movement.
The idea of asking the world for answers – the road, the wind, the stream – came from that instinct we all have to look for direction outside of ourselves.
To hope something will tell us:
“You’re on the right path.”
But nothing ever does. The wind keeps blowing. The water keeps moving. The hills keep rolling. And eventually the realization sinks in… that no one can decide where you’re going but you.
"I been walkin' long enough, to forget where I began."

Road's End Lyrics - Manyface Music
[Verse 1]
I been walkin' long enough
To forget where I began
My boots have kissed each cobblestone
And I have asked this road
When will we be where we need to be
But the road, oh, the road
Don't seem to answer me
[Verse 2]
So I asked this wind
But it kept right on blowing
So I still don't know where I'm going
But my feet will move
Despite ever knowing
But I don't know
If I'll ever meet the end of this road
[Verse 3]
So I asked this stream
But it kept right on flowing
And still I don't know where I'm going
Guess these feet will move
Despite ever knowing
Cuz, I don't know
If I'll ever meet the end of this road
[Bridge
Maybe this road
Don't lead nowhere
Maybe this road
Don't care if I get there
But I know
This road..goes somewhere
But will I ever meet the end of this road
[Verse 4]
Cuz I've asked these hills
But they kept right on rolling
Will I ever know where I'm going
No, so my feet will move
Despite ever knowing
Oh, I don't know
If I'll ever meet the end of this road
[Outro]
Even asked this tree
But see it kept right on growing
Just wanna know where I'm going
But I don't know if these feet
Will ever show me
No, I don't know
But I'll keep on hoping
One day I'll meet the end of this road
