These verses come from what you carry in silence.
Canary is a rap album about life. Not just the easy moments, but the hard ones. The hardest ones. The ones that sometimes feel like we won’t survive them. Writing these tracks has helped me survive some of the most painful moments of my life. Their words are what play in my head when the world’s gone quiet, but my thoughts won’t. When darkness creeps in or life overwhelms. When trauma haunts or loss feels insurmountable.
It’s not about giving up – it’s about getting real. Dropping the mask and speaking the pain out loud before it eats you alive. It’s anger with nowhere to go, sadness with rhythm, and about how music became therapy when nothing else worked.
So, if you’ve ever felt like the background track in your own life – know that there is an after. A moment where all that dark becomes drive. A place where you find your voice and feel confidence again. A time when you learn to be happy with the new you, and where the pain doesn’t feel quite as loud. I hope that you come to the same realization that I have: It’s okay to finally choose you.
